About Us

Rooted in Community. Focused on Change.

Our Story

Born from collaboration. Built for transformation.

In 1999, Center for Youth & Families was founded by Don Bosco Hall, Ennis Center for Children, and Spectrum Human Services, three community-focused organizations with one shared belief: that youth and families deserve hope, healing, and opportunity.

What began as a collaborative response to rising challenges in our city has grown into a thriving movement serving Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. We’ve walked alongside thousands of young people and families, creating trauma-informed solutions that not only meet immediate needs but build a future.

Mission

To strengthen youth, families, and communities by delivering trauma-informed services, building lasting partnerships, and creating equitable access to resources that foster resilience, hope, and a long-term future.

Vision

Thriving communities where every youth and family feels loved, supported, and equipped to define their own success.

Our Core Values

Rooted in timeless principles of justice, mercy, and humility, our core values reflect a deep commitment to the dignity and potential of every youth and family we serve.

Community at the Center

We grow lasting partnerships and design solutions rooted in the real needs of families and neighborhoods.

Humility in Action

We lead with cultural and generational humility—recognizing we are always learning from those we serve.

“Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly.”

These values are woven into everything we do.
